A Guardian Angel's 25 year anniversary, Tenderloin patrol

Saturday March 13th 2010, we the San Francisco Guardian Angels will have two things on the schedule today. The first is Greencard's 25 year anniversary, the second is a Tenderloin Dist. patrol. Our guest today is the San Jose Chapter and the Richmond chapter for the anniversary party. As for the patrol in the Tenderloin Dist. the Richmond Chapter will be staying for this patrol. Everyone has arrived for the party and we are all in colors, the Cake is here, the Food is here, the Banner is here, and we have Three Chapters here today for Greencard's 25 year anniversary. Everyone congratulated Greencard and wished him well, plus he did have to give a speech on how he had made it this far. Greencard is a senior leader, and Greencard is a inspiration to the San Francisco Chapter as a senior leader, and that is why he is highly respected. This is one of those moments that we as Guardian Angels will always remember, again Greencard congratulation on your 25 year anniversary.

Next we move back to our HQ for updates and prebrief, there are a lot of things put on the table for upcoming events, and there is some self-defense training being put on the table as well. So the plans are being set and being put in order, we have the members and we have the leaders to do the job, but there is a lot more that has to come together from other chapters. We do have one promotion today, and that angel is Apache, he made Corporal, great job Apache.

Now we are ready for patrol, we will be two teams, Scorpion will lead team one, J.D. will lead team two, we will be using all radios for communication. Next we march out into the streets of the Tenderloin Dist. This patrol knows its patrol because we have done this many times, we know our hot spots, we know the alley-ways, we know the parks, and we know the streets of the TL. Now we just have to make it safe, and clean it up every time we go into the TL, this takes practice, and it take experience but we do it.

We as Guardian Angels had a hell of a day, we took three crack pipes off the street, we took 25 needles off the street, we took a heroin cooker off the street, we took a marijuana pipe off the street and no telling how many open containers of beer we took off the street. Remember this day is the Saint Patrick's Day Parade, so there where a lot of people out today, but that doesn't faze the angels at all, some people come to the parade to see it an go home, but some people come here to venture out into the TL to look for drugs or to look for trouble, and that is why we had the day that we had.

Now it comes to the end of the day, we know we must call it a day because we have to go home sometime. We march to the HQ, we get to the HQ, we do debrief, we change back into our street clothes. But it is what it is, because when we go out into those streets we know what we are getting into, and that is why they call us Guardian Angels.

We wish to Thank the San Jose Chapter for there support!
We wish to Thank the Richmond Chapter for there support!
We wish to Thank Tess for the use of the restaurant!
We wish to Thank Greencard for 25 years of service!
CHAPTER LEADER/JERRY LONGORIA/J.D.
