Saturday 3/27/10, Mission patrol

Saturday March 27th 2010, we the San Francisco Guardian Angels will have a back to back day today. First on the schedule is the self defense class, the instructor is one of our members, his code name is Warrior. Second thing on the schedule is the patrol in the Mission Dist. All the angels arrived at the HQ on time for this self defense training, we begin with stretching and warm ups, we practice blocks, we practice punches, we practice kicks. The San Francisco Guardian Angels uses this training when needed, and only when needed, and this helps the chapter to be a better chapter on the streets.

Next we all get ready for our prebrief and get ready for the patrol, we must do this to be prepared and to be ready for the streets. There will be two teams tonight, J.D. will lead team one, and Lion will lead team two, we have two first aid techs tonight one for each team, and we will be using all radios for communication for this patrol. Both teams march to the bus stop, we post up to wait for the bus, (bus #14), we all get on the bus to ride to our stop.

We get to our stop, (16th St. BART STATION) and post up to observe the area, not too bad for a Saturday night, it is ALL Clear. We all know the Mission Dist. this will be basically our same tour, next we check out the alley ways; Hunter's Alley, Lover's Lane Alley, Travis Alley, most of the alley ways was not good tonight because of so many needles that we to had picked up, we did pick them up and put them in the BIO Containers, and now the alley ways are All Clear.

Next we march up Mission Street from 16th St. to 24th St. along the way was not too bad, we posted up a few times but it too was All Clear. We did check out the two parks that we always do; Kid Power Park, Alioto Park, this was great they too were All Clear. This was turning out to be one of those nights that we hardly ever see, until we get to the (24th St. BART STATION).

J.D.s team was posted up at one station and Lion's team was posted up at the other station across the street. Lion and his team were concerned about this female that did not look right at the station so they went to talk to her, this female was crying, this female was scared, this female did not know if she was at the right station for her ride to pick her up. They advised her to keep trying to get hold of the person that was to pick her up, they advised her that they will stay there as long as it takes until her ride arrives, they advised her to stay calm and not to be scared.

This is the 24th St. BART STATION, we called it Heroin Central, people get killed, people get robbed and people OD on this corner, this is a HOT SPOT. What had happened is she got off at the wrong station with all her bags and did not know what to do, but finally her ride arrived, she thank the angels and left, now this area is All Clear.

Next we decide to call it a night and get on the bus to go back to the HQ, we get back to the HQ, we do debrief, we change back into our street clothes, we did have one promotion tonight and that is Lion, Lion to Lieutenant, congratulations Lion. As for the patrol, there is never the same patrol, all patrols are different, we train for these patrols, we plan for these patrols, and as members we make this chapter the way it is because we are the Guardian Angels.

We do have to Thank Warrior for his experience in the Martial Arts and we are thankful to have him as a member of San Francisco Chapter!

Contra Costa, Richmond, 3/20/10

Saturday March 20th 2010, we the San Francisco Guardian Angels will be assisting the Contra Costa Chapter, and the Richmond Chapter will be there as well. This event is in Contra Costa, the Contra Costa Collage, an event for the community, an event full of organizations, and we as Guardian Angels will be apart of this event, thanks to the Contra Costa Chapter for being involved. We the San Francisco Guardian Angels must arrive early at the HQ to get there on time, all the angels are here now, all the angels has changed into uniform, now we are ready for this event. We all must travel to this event, by BART, by AC TRANSIT, and march to the area, but we are angels and we know the drill. As we arrive to the event we first set up the table, we do radio checks, we tour around the area, and we are aware that the Contra Costa Chapter is a new chapter with new members.

The Contra Costa Chapter are willing to learn and are willing to get the training they need, and they are also willing to change into a better uniform, it will take time and it will take money for the chapter to get everything they need, but they do have the heart. For this event there is all kinds of activities to get involved in, and there is even some training that you could get as well. We as angels took a self defense class from a well trained instructor a (5th degree black belt) that is will known throughout the community. We as angels took a class for CPR and some basic first aid skills from a Guardian Angel that is a RED CROSS instructor.

We as angels even got face painted to get involved with the kids, and when we did the kids asked us all kinds of questions that we where gladly happy answered, it is great to be a ROLL-MODEL. So the day turned out to be a good day and it turned out to be a good event.

We all know as angels we help out our fellow chapter's when we can, we are a group, we are a organization that must lead the way for SAFETY. For this event the day is over and we must get back to our city, to our headquarters, we march to the bus stop, we catch the bus to take us all to the BART STATION. We ride the BART to our city and get off at our stop downtown, we come up from the BART to the streets to march to the headquarters, we get to the headquarters. Next we do debrief, we change back into our street clothes and we call it a day. But there is more to it than that, we all did a GREAT job, angels with no experience, angels with some experience and angels with experience, this is the power of the Guardian Angels!
We the San Francisco Guardian Angels wish to Thank again (Shadow) Chapter Leader for Richmond for his support.

We the San Francisco Guardian Angels appreciate (Spider) Chapter Leader for Contra Costa, on his dedication and his leadership in trying his best to get this chapter up and running. It is work and it is a hand full, but we have faith that he can do it.

A Guardian Angel's 25 year anniversary, Tenderloin patrol

Saturday March 13th 2010, we the San Francisco Guardian Angels will have two things on the schedule today. The first is Greencard's 25 year anniversary, the second is a Tenderloin Dist. patrol. Our guest today is the San Jose Chapter and the Richmond chapter for the anniversary party. As for the patrol in the Tenderloin Dist. the Richmond Chapter will be staying for this patrol. Everyone has arrived for the party and we are all in colors, the Cake is here, the Food is here, the Banner is here, and we have Three Chapters here today for Greencard's 25 year anniversary. Everyone congratulated Greencard and wished him well, plus he did have to give a speech on how he had made it this far. Greencard is a senior leader, and Greencard is a inspiration to the San Francisco Chapter as a senior leader, and that is why he is highly respected. This is one of those moments that we as Guardian Angels will always remember, again Greencard congratulation on your 25 year anniversary.

Next we move back to our HQ for updates and prebrief, there are a lot of things put on the table for upcoming events, and there is some self-defense training being put on the table as well. So the plans are being set and being put in order, we have the members and we have the leaders to do the job, but there is a lot more that has to come together from other chapters. We do have one promotion today, and that angel is Apache, he made Corporal, great job Apache.

Now we are ready for patrol, we will be two teams, Scorpion will lead team one, J.D. will lead team two, we will be using all radios for communication. Next we march out into the streets of the Tenderloin Dist. This patrol knows its patrol because we have done this many times, we know our hot spots, we know the alley-ways, we know the parks, and we know the streets of the TL. Now we just have to make it safe, and clean it up every time we go into the TL, this takes practice, and it take experience but we do it.

We as Guardian Angels had a hell of a day, we took three crack pipes off the street, we took 25 needles off the street, we took a heroin cooker off the street, we took a marijuana pipe off the street and no telling how many open containers of beer we took off the street. Remember this day is the Saint Patrick's Day Parade, so there where a lot of people out today, but that doesn't faze the angels at all, some people come to the parade to see it an go home, but some people come here to venture out into the TL to look for drugs or to look for trouble, and that is why we had the day that we had.

Now it comes to the end of the day, we know we must call it a day because we have to go home sometime. We march to the HQ, we get to the HQ, we do debrief, we change back into our street clothes. But it is what it is, because when we go out into those streets we know what we are getting into, and that is why they call us Guardian Angels.

We wish to Thank the San Jose Chapter for there support!
We wish to Thank the Richmond Chapter for there support!
We wish to Thank Tess for the use of the restaurant!
We wish to Thank Greencard for 25 years of service!

Community meeting, Tenderloin, 3/11/10

Thursday March 11th 2010, there is a community meeting in the Tenderloin Dist. We the San Francisco Guardian Angels are invited to this meeting, and the special guest speaker is the SF Police Chief George Gascon. The SF Police Chief touched base on: the city, the community, and the future. The Police Chief advised on everyone to work together, and he discussed the economy that this city needs.

As for the community, the SF Police Chief wants more police to do more foot patrols to stop the drug dealing and the violence in all communities. As for the future, it is going to take time and that it is not going to happen over night. This is a great city, we can restart it, we can rebuild it, we just need everyone to get involved to do there share, you can all make a difference for this city.

For this meeting it did help the Guardian Angels to get notice, to let the SF Police Chief know that we care, and that we are here if he needs the Angels. We did invite the SF Police Chief to the Guardian Angel Convention that is going to be held here in San Francisco. He advised us that he would see what he could do, but to try to get in touch with him in advance, and hopefully he would be one of our special guest speakers at our convention.

Thank You To Our New SF Police Chief, George Gascon!

Haight/Ashbury, bus patrols

Saturday March 6th 2010, we the San Francisco Guardian Angels will be patrolling the Height Ashbury Dist. and doing bus patrols today on two buses, (bus #71 & bus #38). All the angels and our guest from San Jose Chapter start arriving at the HQ around 12:00 noon, to change into uniforms and to do prebrief. Again this is a back to back patrol, it take focus and it takes patience because this is going to be a long patrol. There will be two teams, I J.D. will be team one and Scorpion will be team two, we will have two first aid techs and we will be using all radios for communication for this patrol. Now we are ready to head out into the streets, first we march to the bus stop on Market Street & 5th, next we get on bus #71.

We all know what to do on the bus, and that is looking for drinking on the bus, doing drugs on the bus, writing graffiti on the bus and not let any freeloaders come in the back door of the bus, the ride is All Clear. Now we are at Haight Ashbury Dist. We get off the bus, we march down the main street of the area, the area is All Clear. Next we march right into the Golden Gate Park, before we do we call the Park Rangers, (they give us the OK).

As we march around the area, we are greeted, we are thanked, but as we got to the back of the park there were some things scattered on the ground, along with needles a butchers knife, we cleaned up the area and marched on.

This area seems to be calm, cool, and collected, but not so fast, as we were starting to march out of the park, we come across a male that was so beat-up that this guy needed to go to the hospital. Right away we called 911, they arrived, they observe him, they walked him to there ambulance, put him in and left.

Next we march to the bus stop to get on bus #71 to do another bus patrol, we get on the bus going outbound all the way to the Pacific Ocean, the ride is All Clear. We get to our stop, we get into our teams, we now are ready for a long march to our other bus stop, but this area is the Pacific Ocean, there is no crime, there is no violence, there is no drug dealing, but there is the exercise that we need for this long march. Everyone did not know what to expect from this patrol, but it did have an impact on us, because it took endurance, and it showed how we can get into any environment and still stay focus on what we are doing.

We all got to our bus stop, both teams, we get on bus #38 going inbound, we look for all things that we look for on the bus, the ride is All Clear.

We get back into the city and to our stop, we get into our teams and we call it a night and march back to the HQ. We get to the HQ, we open up the office, now we do debrief, this is a good day, we all came back safe, we all came back alive, and we all had fun. This patrol had little mistakes, the leaders did a very good job, we do need to have different patrol leaders and this will come in upcoming patrols.

We the San Francisco Chapter would like to THANK the San Jose Chapter for there help and their leadership!

Mission district , bus patrol, 2/27/10

Saturday February 27th 2010, we the San Francisco Guardian Angels will be patrolling the Mission Dist. and will be doing a bus patrol tonight. This a back to back patrol, it takes a lot of patience and it takes a lot of focus, but we are ready. As everyone starts to arrive at the HQ we prepare for this patrol, we change into uniforms, we prebrief, and we welcome our new members. We will be one team of eleven, I J.D. will be patrol leader and Scorpion will be the tail of this team, we have one first aid tech, and we will be using all radios for communication. Next we call the Mission Police Dept. to advise them that we will be patrolling the area, they gave us the OK for that area, now we are ready to go into the Mission Dist.

The team all post up outside the HQ, we next march to the bus stop, we post up to wait for our bus, we get on bus #14 to head to our destination. We are now at our stop,16th street BART STATION as soon as we are out of the bus there is a fight, a fight between two females, I J.D. grabbed one female and my partner Apache had grabbed the other female to break them apart, all the other angels had posted up around the BART STATION to make sure no one else were going to jump in, and they all had stuck with their partner.

The women had calmed down, the area was full of people and they were all calming down, but we stayed posted up just in case. Next the police had arrived, someone had called them, I J.D. and my partner went to talk to the officer to explain what had happened. The officer wanted talked to both women, we went over to them, he had a few words with them and had both of them leave the area, the officer shook our hands, got back in his vehicle and left. Next we hit the alley-ways; Hunters Alley was not too bad, for the first time we did not pick up one dirty needle, this alley was All Clear.

As for Lovers Lane Alley we walked up on a female shooting dope but she stopped as soon as she seen us and stashed her stuff, we asked her to leave the area, she gathered her things and left.

We looked around where she was at but nothing was there, but she had dropped a needle as she was leaving the alley, this needle was fresh with her blood still in it.

Next we marched to Kid Power Park, we get there, we do a perimeter of the park, we find beer bottles, beer cans, we asked ourselves why would someone drink at a park for kids? (some people don't care), this area is now All Clear.

We march back to 16th street BART STATION, we post up for a while, it is All Clear. We next march up Mission St. we picked up one crack pipe, it was someones stash but other than that everything was calm. We then march to Alioto Park, it is All Clear, we next march back to Mission St. to get to Walgreen's for our water break, this is much needed. We then march to 24th street BART STATION, we post up for a while, it is All Clear, we next check out Travis Alley, this alley is All Clear.

Now we are ready for our bus patrol, everyone is still focused, we just have to make sure, that no one drinks on the bus, no one does drugs on the bus, no one puts any graffiti on the bus, and no one tries to come in the back door without paying, everything will be just fine. As we ride the bus outbound everything is calm, but the bus is full of people, we did what we could do for our presence, this is still good.

As we ride the bus inbound everything is calm, but we did notice a prostitute trying to pick up a customer, she notice the angels and she was not going to get the customer, she got off the bus. This bus is #14 it is one of the worst bus that you can ride in the city, and that is why the angels do more patrols on this bus. Next we decided to call it a night and head back to the HQ, we get off at our stop, we march to the HQ, we unlock the office.

Now we are ready for debrief, everyone does have something to say and everyone must say something to learn from this patrol, this helps us to do better, this helps us to learn from our mistakes, this also gives you the confidence to become stronger next time. Great patrol, everyone followed directions, everyone listened to the patrol leader, and everyone had watch their distance, Thank You Guys For Your Dedication!
