We have a new 2nd in Command: Scorpion. He has been a Guardian Angel now for two years. He led the patrol with 11 Guardian Angels today in the Mission and we used radios today also. We started out posted up at the bus stop waiting for the bus to arrive. When it came, we asked the bus driver if we could ride with him and he let us ride without charge. This is the support we receive from MUNI drivers.
We got to 16th and Mission, posted up as Scorpion led the patrol. We headed to Hunter's alley where we collected at least 20 needles. This is the kind of spot for this and we just kept cleaning it up. We went to Kid Power Park and it was all clear, so we went to Alioto Park and it was all clear also. Got to 24th and Mission, posted up and it was not too bad for a drug corner, it was all clear.
Went around to Travis alley, it too was all clear. Another alley that we hit is Lover's Lane, this was a bad alley and we must have picked up 10-15 needles and a crack pipe. As we started to head back down to 16th St., Scorpion posted up the patrol. We heard yelling and screaming coming from a restaurant, there were two women and a man yelling. The man is the one that started it and kept it up. We had to ask the man to leave the area and he did with no problem.
Got to 16th St. with no other incidents and caught the #14 bus to come back to HQ (headquarters). We had a good day, everyone came back safe, we did our debrief and gave our new 2nd Command high marks for his patrol.

Tenderloin District 1/31/09
We've been busy lately and haven't had time to update the blog as often as we'd like to, so we've got a few more blog posts to get us current. We began our day with a pre-brief before starting our patrol on Turk St. with eight Guardian Angels. We posted up and began talking to the neighbors in the community.
The patrol went all the way to Van Ness and back down Turk because of the high crime rate. We went down other streets as well; Jones, Leavenworth, and Geary. The crack dealers were out along with the crackheads. They do not care how and when they do their drugs. But as we posted up on these corners, they left and it got peaceful. Citizens started to come outside their buildings when they saw us. This is a good feeling to make a stand and give back some hope for this community. It is making a statement that we do care. Our goal is to make more patrols in this neighborhood and to get the neighborhood to come together and take their streets back.
It was a good patrol, everyone came back safe and when we got back we did a debrief as well. Thanks to all the guys who did this patrol. The San Francisco Chapter! Read the rest

Mission District Jan. 24th, 2009
The purpose for this patrol was to look over two sites for a new HQ, or to keep on looking. We did have visitors this weekend, the Oakland Chapter and the Salano Chapter.
The patrols began on 16th street-mission and to end at 24th street-mission. As we started into our tour we stoped at 21st street-mission to look at one of the sites for a HQ, nobody was there to show us the place or to open the door, this did not work out for this place. Then we got back into our patrol, made it to 24th street-mission, posted up for awhile. Next was to look at the other site which was back down to 18th street-mission, we got there turned right went to Treat St. We look at the place and it just was not big enough, it was to much money for a down payment. We are still looking out for a HQ, so if theres anybody out there can help us with this, this would be greatful. You can contact us through this E-mail address or you call me at my cell number, (415)871-7260. the area's that we are requesting are the mission dist. or the tenderlion dist. and it does have to have access to a restroom. So as the day began to end we did tour some of the alleyway's to clean them out, we hit three allies each one was bad in its own way. We managed to pick up 20 to 30 needles with blood and drugs still left in them, now be assured we do have our gloves on at all times and we do place them in Bio-Hazard Containers, this is safe and this is our procedure, at the end of the day we turn them into the needle exchange. January 10, 2009 patrol
We went to Oakland this past Saturday in the aftermath of the BART shooting and the riot last week. We had 15 Guardian Angels from San Francisco, Oakland, and Solano County.
We started our patrol in downtown Oakland on Broadway. Seeing the debris and destruction left from the riot was intense. There were burned trash cans, burned newsstands and boarded up shop windows that had been broken. Soon into the patrol a fight started between two women and as we approached the scene the police arrived and handcuffed the women and took them to jail.
When we reached the BART station at Fruitvale a confrontation started between a young woman and an older man. The woman said the man had slapped her and the man said he did so because she was trying to get inside the bag he was carrying. The train arrived and we all got on, including the woman and the man. We asked the woman if she wanted to press charges and she said yes so we contacted the train operator. At the next stop the BART police took the man out of the train while other officers spoke to the woman in the train. The woman didn't want to press charges now, so the BART police took down information from the man and let him go.
After that, we headed to International Blvd but everything was OK. After that we came back to San Francisco after having a good and safe patrol. Read the rest

January 3rd, 2009 patrol in the Tenderloin
We had Guardian Angels from Oakland and Solano join us this weekend to patrol in San Francisco. With 15 Guardian Angels, we set out to patrol the Tenderloin in two separate patrols covering each other. We patrolled all over the Tenderloin including down: Ellis, McAllister, Turk, and O’Farrell.
Tenderloin residents greeted us and were glad to see us back again. The patrol was low-key but productive as we met with local concerned residents to listen to them explain how the neighborhood was getting out of control. It was very good to have the backing of the community. The patrol ended safely, we did our best, and We Dare To Care.
The San Francisco chapter would like to thank the Oakland and Solano chapters, and their leaders, Christina in Oakland and Omar in Solano, for their help.

Rally for peace in Vallejo
A Peace Rally will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m., beginning at City Park and finishing at Georgia Street. The Guardian Angels will be there with chapters from San Francisco, Oakland and Richmond. There will be plenty of people covering this sad event.

I am letting you know about the Peace Rally because a man was murdered on the same night that we held our meeting at the Empress on Dec. 2. While we were speaking about making Vallejo a nicer place to live, one man was murdered on the corner of Georgia and Marin streets, locking up from work and preparing to go home. This is a very cowardly act upon another person who is trying to make something of himself and his home. Vallejoans want to see these acts of violence stop in this beautiful town.
So please if you can, be there to support this rally and show everyone that this will no longer be tolerated in our neighborhood or in Vallejo. It's time that we all stand up and take this city back from the thugs that threaten our children and their futures here.
Join me and many others who want to see a positive change and stop the ripple effect of violence that effects all of us here in Vallejo.
